Lemonade & Raspberry Slushies

This frozen slushie drink will satisfy all your sweet-and-sour cravings and it's so simple to make. Just add all ingredients in a food processor and mix until you get your desired slush texture.

The below recipe makes about six drinking jars filled with slushie raspberry-lemonade goodness! If you want to turn this into a gourmet drink, add some fresh raspberries and a slice of lemon on top.

  • 600g Frozen Raspberries
  • Juice of 3 Fresh Lemons

Mint Iced Tea with Blueberries

If you want your kids to taste summer, sip by sip, then this mint iced tea with fresh blueberries should become your go-to drink. It's guaranteed to be a delight at any picnic, barbecue or on a warm day after school.

Start by boiling your kettle and adding the mint tea bags to a jug. Then pour the boiling water over them and leave to infuse for around five minutes.

In a separate jug, add the blueberries and sugar. Lightly crush these together. Once you've removed the tea bags from the tea jug, pour the tea over the blueberries and add the cold water.

If your children don't like bits in their drinks, you can simply strain the mixture to remove the blueberry pulp.

To serve, add ice, a few sprigs of fresh mint, lemon slices and fresh blueberries to a glass.

Mint Iced Tea with Blueberries Ingredients

  • 5 Peppermint Tea Bags
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 100g Blueberries
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 200ml Cold Water

  • Ice
  • Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Lemon Slices

Fruity Smoothie

Another addition to your must-drink summer list should be a fruity smoothie. Your kids are sure to enjoy this smoothie packed with strawberries, bananas and orange juice. They'll get a fix of needed vitamins while enjoying the goodness of this ice-cold drink.

Prepare this fruity smoothie by blitzing the strawberries and banana together in a blender. Once you reach a smooth consistency, add the orange juice and froth the mix up with a milk frother (widely available from online retailers like Amazon and Etsy) to reach a fizzy consistency. Immediately transfer to a tall glass with ice and a chunky straw. For the finishing touch garnish with frozen strawberries.

Fruity Smoothie Ingredients

  • 175 Strawberries
  • Small Banana
  • 100ml Chilled Orange Juice
  • Ice

Creamy Oreo Milkshake

A creamy combination of ice cream and milk never disappoints on a scorching hot day, and you can easily make them at home with a few simple ingredients and a blender your kids' mouths will be watering for more. Due to the high calorie and sugar content of this milkshake, it's best reserved as a special dessert or mid-day snack on weekends.

To make this milkshake (recipe makes two), gather all the main ingredients and blend until smooth. Crush two cookies for garnishing in a food-safe plastic bag. Pour your shake in tall glasses and garnish with the crushed cookie crumbs. If your kids have been extra good and deserve a treat, why not go the extra mile by adding a whole cookie and marshmallows to each glass?

Creamy Oreo Milkshake Ingredients

  • 500ml Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 250ml Whole Milk
  • 8 Oreo Cookies
  • 1 tbsp Chocolate Sauce

Optional Garnish

  • Oreo Cookies (2 for crumbling & 2 for topping)
  • Marshmallows

Grenadine & Orange Juice Refresher

Packed with fruity-flavours, this refresher will tantalize tastebuds and serve as the perfect drink during family brunch. Your kids will love the ease of making these and adding grape and blueberry stirrers double the goodness of this drink.

Grenadine and orange juice refreshers are easy to make. Simply pour the grenadine into glasses (recipe makes 4) and gently tip them to run the orange juice down the insides.

Doing this will leave it sitting on top of the grenadine. Top the drink with sparkling water and thread the blueberries and grapes onto skewers to add as garnish. Drop a few blocks of ice into each glass to make this refresher extra cold.

Grenadine & Orange Juice Refresher Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Grenadine
  • 400ml Orange Juice
  • Sparkling Water

For the Skewers

  • Fresh or Frozen Blueberries (Fresh is best)
  • Fresh or Frozen Green Grapes (Fresh is best)

Whether you make these to help your kids cool down or kick up a party, our list of summer refreshments will leave your kids feeling spoiled.
