Maje was founded in 1998 by Judith Milgrom. The first shop was opened in the upmarket 6th arrondissement in Paris. Now over twenty years on Maje has stores in many countries across the globe, and brand availability currently stands at 37 countries.
Maje is a family business and is part of the SMLP group that consists of Maje, Sandro, and Claudie Pierlot. Maje's popularity has steadily increased in the UK recently, with 19 stores or concessions across the country. Not to mention a fabulous website and a big presence on social media.
What does the name stand for?
The name is a collection of Milgrom's close family members' initials. M for her maiden name Moyal, A for her brother Alain, J for Judith and E for her sister Evelyne. Put all together you get the chic, mystery of Maje.
