Movie night out of the way and the Strictly stars were back to dance their way into the next round, albeit without a couple of celebrities off for medical reasons.

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 - Week 4

Robert Web has had to pull out of Strictly 2021 after advice from his doctor. He has been recovering from a heart op a couple of years ago. In a statement, the comedian said: I'm extremely sorry to have to announce that I'm withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing. Two years ago I had open heart surgery and although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery.

We wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts to date, he was a promising performer and surprised the judges.

Rugby player Ugo Monye was also missing from the Strictly line up this week after undergoing surgery on his back. It's thought he will make a full recovery in time for week 5 so fingers crossed to that and good luck Ugo, Ugo, Ugo, Ugo....

Back to business on the dance floor and opening week 4 was Rose and Giovanni doing a cha cha to the Prince song Raspberry Beret. The Fred & Ginger style dance went down well with the judges and the couple scored 27 points.

Gossip: Strictly Come Dancing fans tip Rose to win the series.

Tom and Amy were up next doing a foxtrot to the Frank Sinatra song 'Fly me to the Moon'. Classic song and well danced. The judges scored them 29 points.

Tilly and Nikita pulled off a solid pasodoble which catapulted them to the top of the leaderboard with 32 points. The judges always have great things to say about TV chef Gordon Ramsey's daughter. She's one to watch.

Greg and Karen performed a Samba to Macarena by Los Del Rio. The dance was no where near as flamboyant as their costumes and the couple scored just 19 points, rooting them to the bottom of the leaderboard.

Consistently good performers, John and Johannes danced an American Smooth to the George Michael and Aretha Franklin song, I knew you were waiting. This time the judges had a few critical things to feedback to the couple and scored them a very average 29 points.

Rhys and Nancy were up next with a Salsa which bagged the couple a respectable 31 points. The CBBC presenter is taking on feedback from the judges and executing on the dance floor. He's improving week on week so far.

The highest score of the night went to Sara and Aljaz for their Tango. The arts and crafts tycoon and Dragons' Den celebrity is fast becoming a favourite of the judges and can do no wrong so far. 36 points shoots the couple all the way to the top of the leaderboard and there they will remain for the rest of the show.

Dan and Nadya did an MC Hammer inspired Cha Cha to 'You Can't Touch This', Judi and Graziano did a goosebump inducing Waltz to a Maria Carey song 'Hero' in memory of her late mother and grand mother. The couples scored 26 and 24 respectively.

Olympian Adam Peaty and his professional partner Katya Jones needed to pull something out of the bag to improve on their very low score in week 3. The bar of 20 points was a low one, so surely the only way was up. Katya went to town with the choreography for this one by including a very impressive sequence of lifts that utilised all the upper body strength of her Olympian celebrity partner.

One lift in particular (pictured above) required Adam to lower Katya to the floor and then lift her back up again, much like a digger or a forklift would manoeuvre its cargo. Super impressive, and the Tango wasn't bad either. The couple massively improved on week 3 with a well earned 32 points from the Judges, slotting them in second place - silver medal territory, much more familiar territory for the British Swimmer who has an eye-watering 35 gold medals, eight silvers and two bronzes to his name.

The last dance of the night was performed by AJ and Kai. The couple seems to be growing on each other and it shows in their performance. They did a Samba which only scored 28 points but more than enough to make them safe to dance again in week 5.

Strictly 2021 Week 4 - The Results Show

Time to find out which couples are going to ease their way through to week 5 and which couples will have to dance off for a place in next week's show.

Just for full transparency, we voted for Katya & Adam, Rose and Giovanni and AJ & Kai.

Before the tension of the results of the public votes, the professionals performed a very stylised group dance. Very captivating and thoroughly enjoyable.

Now it's the moment of truth for the contestants and the first couple that will have to take to the dance floor to fight for a place in week 5 is Judi and Graziano.

Before we get to find out who will be joining Judi in the dance off, there was a special appearance from boy band, now full grown man band West Life.

Drum roll of doom... The public decided that Greg and Karen would have to dance again for a place in week 5.

Both couples did their thing but only one couple can make it through to the next round. It was unanimous. Craig, Motsi and Anton all saved Judi, which means Gregg is out of the competition.

Rose and Giovanni are one of our favourite couples in the show so far. They always look like they are having the time of their life and Rose has impressive rhythm considering she's hearing impaired. This cha cha only scored 27 points from the judges but we loved it.
