Win a £10,000 diamond engagement ring

Win a £10,000 diamond engagement ring

LOVE is in the air here at the Henley Standard — and we’ve got a £10,000 solitaire diamond engagement ring to prove it.

Yes, that’s the prize waiting to be won in our Valentine’s Day competition and the winner could be you.

If you’re planning to get engaged, simply tell us the story of how you fell in love and you could be winning a spectacular sparkler to celebrate the most romantic day of the year.

This wonderful prize, courtesy of Henley jeweller David Rodger Sharp, is a 1.09 carat laboratory-grown solitaire diamond ring with a halo of natural diamonds around the top. The diamond is H colour with VS2 clarity and set in 18 carat white gold.

Mr Rodger Sharp says: “I thought it would be great to see some niceness rather than gloom.

“It is nice to see a couple together, whether they have been together for a few or 50 years, and to hear about their love journey. It is also the perfect time to celebrate, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, and the season of love starting.”

We’ll publish your best stories in the Henley Standard and we can’t wait to hear them. Did your eyes first meet across an office desk or maybe you met on a dating app?

Perhaps it was a fairytale romance on a paradise island or did you fall for the girl next door?

Whether a teenage romance or a love affair later in life, a slow burn or a bolt from the blue, we want to hear your personal love story. Send your entry in no more than 250 words and with a picture, together with your name, address and daytime telephone number, by email to competitions@
henleystandard.co.uk or send it to: Valentine’s Day ring competition, Henley Standard, 1 Station Road, Henley, Oxfordshire, RG9 1AD.

The closing date is Friday, February 3 and the winner will be notified by phone and announced in the Henley Standard in time for Valentine’s Day.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges including Mr Rodger Sharp, Henley Standard editor Simon Bradshaw and Lorna Dunlop, owner of Henley Florist and Flower School in Hart Street, who will also be supplying the winner with a bouquet of red roses.

The prize is non-refundable and there is no cash alternative. The editor’s decision is final.

Normal Henley Standard competition rules apply. These can be viewed at www.henleystandard.
