Win a set of Costa Book Awards winners a bundle of Costa Coffee goodies

Perk yourself up this year with five sensational books and delicious coffee!

Launched in 1971, the Costa Book Awards is one of the UK's most prestigious and popular book prizes and celebrates the most enjoyable books of the year by writers living in the UK and Ireland.

We're giving away five sets of Costa Book Awards category winners, plus tins of Costa Coffee's new Premium Instant – Smooth Medium Roast and Intense Dark Roast, a Costa Coffee Primo cup and saucer, and £20 spend in any Costa Coffee store or Drive Thru.

You'll win the following five brilliant books, one of which will be named Costa Book of the Year later this month:

  • Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud, winner of the Costa First Novel Award, is about the irrepressible Betty Ramdin, her shy son Solo and their marvellous lodger, Mr Chetan. Happy in their differences, they build a home together, until the night when a glass of rum, a heart to heart and a terrible truth explodes the family unit, driving them apart.
  • The Mermaid of Black Conch by Monique Roffey, winner of the Costa Novel Award, tells the story of David, a fisherman, and Aycayia, a centuries old mermaid. David rescues Aycayia when she is caught by American tourists and hides her away, where she slowly, painfully turns into a woman.
  • The Louder I Will Sing by Lee Lawrence, winner of the Costa Biography Award, is a memoir about growing up in modern Britain as a young Black man. It's a story both of people and politics, but also the positive power that hope, faith and love can bring in response.
  • The Historians by Eavan Boland, winner of the Costa Poetry Award. Eva Boland's final volume is the culmination of her signature themes, exploring the ways in which the hidden, sometimes all-but-erased stories of women's lives can powerfully revise our sense of the past.
  • And Voyage of the Sparrowhawk by Natasha Farrant, winner of the Costa Children's Book Award, is an epic journey of police chases, storms at sea and unexpected puppies.

The Costa Book of the Year virtual awards ceremony took place on Tuesday 26th January and The Mermaid of Black Conch was announced as the Costa Book of the Year! You can watch the ceremony on the Costa Coffee YouTube channel
