As good as new.
Only a day into using this (setting up, transferring files, etc) but, so far, I like it. Slow internet issue solved by a simple reboot (the old 'turn it off and turn it on'). It looks and works as good as new. The only issue which caused a bit of anguish was the lack of a stand for the tablet (I'd assumed that a stand was built-in). As you can see by the attached pics, I made the tablet's shipping sleeve into a stand (complete with screen protector!) By a little snipping of card and an elastic band of the postman. Not ideal due to a bit of instability, but I'm sure that Amazon could look into making such shipping sleeves into sleeve-cum-stands as standard; it wouldn't harm their green credentials, would it? 😉

    When the pad arrived I was expecting it to look a little rough around the edges being a refurbished item. I was totally blown away as it looks brand new, not a mark on it and its really good to use.
    It ain't an iPad so don't expect that level of screen quality but it is clear, sharp and plenty fast enough for streaming, music, games and books. I have to keep dragging it away from my Mrs as she love it too despite "I don't like those tablet things!"

    I ordered this as a Warehouse 'very good' condition, and paid £84.99 at £17 per month on the Amazon Monthly Payments.

    As described, the condition was basically perfect apart from lacking the original box. It came with a brand new charger plug and cable.
    The scheduled monthly payments are taken with no problem and I will take advantage of this option again in the future.

    Having had a few of the cheaper Fire 7 devices I was interested to see how the more premium Fire tablet looked and felt. The screen resolution was much better, as was the improved speaker setup.
    I watched the Premier League football on it and was very impressed with the screen and sound!

    Obviously as it's an Amazon device, it makes much more sense to buy if you have a Prime account. I also have purchased a number of Kindle books and these look great. Also, it's the perfect size to read comics on, if that's your thing.

    I'm not a great user of Alexa, so I can't comment on how that works.
    Overall though, it's a great value device, especially now it's been superseded by the 8th generation, I'm sure there are some Amazon Warehouse bargains out there!

    I;ve been using my kindle fire 7 every day for the past couple of years and when I saw this on offer for half price I decided to upgrade in the hopes that the kindle 10 might also be able to replace my dying Chromebook.

    I;v only had the fire 10 a short while but so far I am really impressed with it. The Fire 10 has a faster processor than the 7 which means that there is none of the annoying lag that its smaller cousin seemed to suffer from when using it online. The videos are crisp, sharp and bright and the sound is much improved from the smaller version. It seems to be very fast when browsing the web and the ease of finding apps and books makes it a really user friendly device. The screen seems huge compared to what I;ve been used to and its really bridged the gap between tablet/e-reader and laptop.

    I could not be happier with this purchase and even if I had paid full price it would still be more than worth the cost.

    Takes a long time to fully charge and not very long to use the battery. My iPad is much better at battery life and charging time. However screen is great and a good size for watching films and tv. User interface is clunky and difficult to navigate with setting hidden everywhere in all sorts of menus and sub menus. Again apple is better with its intuitive and easy to find menu system. That said my apple products cost 8-10 times more so for the money this is excellent value for money! I use this for my daughter playing games and watching films and it’s perfect for that.

    This tablet was meant for my mum. She wanted a non-iPhone tablet to view some things whilst moving about in the house but also to use at the back and front of the house. The tablet has a great size in the one she has now, not all is logic but that is probably due to the fact I am an Apple chap. Comes with most Amazon apps already pre installed including Alexa and seeing an 80 yr old lady speaking to Alexa is well worth a view :-) I went for the 10" one for her, big enough to watch YouTube and Prime Video decently whilst still portable to carry with her. There was no damage to the packaging and no damage to the device either and it works tremendously fast. So can highly recommend this !

    I have never had a problem inserting/removing SD cards in over 20 years of using, but there seems to be a design fault on the Fire which allows the SD card to slip outside it's intended slot and is impossible to retrieve.

    Apart from minor irritations regarding the availability of certain apps and the camera quality slightly suss, good value for money.
