My only negative is that when the garland is moved or shaped into place, the garland sheds glitter, plastic spruce and green foliage tinsel.

I spent more time hoovering up debris that had been shed by the garland than placing it, and shaping it on the mantel piece.

But after all this, the garland lives up to what it’s supposed to be, a beautiful fixture and decoration for Christmas.

The garland is 9 feet in length and fits a standard fire place mantle piece.

I would highly recommend this illuminated garland, but have your hoover on standby to clean up any shedding afterwards.

I bought this for my mantlepiece as I wanted to give the dining room a more Christmassy feel. I didn't want "cheap and cheerful" but neither did I want to pay the £80+ my local garden centre wanted for a similar length and quality of product.

It arrived promptly in quite a small box and I unpacked it and let it "relax" before trying to put it up. It's much like an artificial tree in that it needs delicate and patient handling to unfurl the individual elements of the garland. I had bought some spare lights for it just in case but these weren't needed.

We used Command hooks (5 medium size) to mount the garland on the wall just above the mantle. It's not heavy but it's easier to put up with a person at each end :-) I think ours is actually upside down but we needed the cable to be on the left hand side of the product and I don't think it really matters which way up it is ultimately! The cable from the end of the garland to the plug is nice and long - we've got it running behind a bookcase in the alcove next to the fireplace and then at 90 degrees to the socket about a metre along the wall.

I am very pleased with this garland, it looks, I think, just as good as the ones three times the price in the garden centre and is good quality. I've had nothing but compliments about it.

Then I used it to decorate above my kitchen arch and it was looking stunning there. I guess I ordered this last minute just before Christmas so may be I got a product which was damaged but it looked very beautiful on my arch . This is too long for a fire place decoration.
