Product Description
How do you get your children to understand when it's time to get up? It's easy- stay in bed until you see the sun. The Groclock uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it's time to spring out of bed. The Groclock includes a feature allowing parents to choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the usual ‘stars to sun’ countdown. So for older children, they can now start to learn digital time, as well as look for the arrival of the sun. The Groclock also comes with a beautifully illustrated book which helps to encourage children to stay in bed longer, which means more sleep for them and more sleep for you. It is this combination of the simple glowing images and the bedtime story book which has already made the Groclock a phenomenal success.

Features
Understand when it’s time to get up
Easy to understand pictures help little ones understand when it’s time to get up and when it’s time to stay in bed.
Adjustable brightness
The brightness of the Groclock can be easily turned down or off completely.
Bedtime book
Included with the Groclock is the adorable 'A sky full of dreams' bedtime book to read with your child and encourage them to stay in bed longer.
Changing time
Set the time your child wakes up in the morning, great for helping make the adjustment to seasonal clock changes.
Top Tips
Don’t set the wake up time too far ahead on the first night
If your child is used to waking at 5.30 don’t make the leap to a 7.30 wake up. Start with small increments to help your child make the adjustment.
Give lots of practice
A reward chart to show their achievement when they successfully wait for the sun can really help motivate little ones to stick to their new wake up time.
Persevere
If at first it doesn’t work do keep trying. Some children take a little while to ‘get’ the clock so do keep giving it a go and build it into their nighttime routine.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 December 2013We have a two and a half year old son who, up until about 2yrs old slept right through the night until about 8 O'clock. Without any change in routine he began to wake up earlier and earlier full of the joys of life and ready to take on the day (anywhere between 5am - 6.30am). He's a stubborn little man so no amount of persuasion could convince him that it wasn't time to get up so up he'd get using our heads as a trampoline usually at 5.30am. We tried everything from cutting back on his daytime nap to sending him to bed later but nothing worked.....Until we saw this Gro Clock on Amazon.
I ordered the clock thinking there wasn't a hope of it working. I told a few of our friends about the clock (also parents of young kids) and they were laughing dismissing it as a gimmick. Anyway, too late it was ordered at that stage so I decided to embrace it and give it a go.
A day before the clock was due to arrive I sat himself down and explained that we were getting him a lovely clock that was going to tell him when it was time to get out of bed in the morning. He seemed excited and definitely understood the concept of how the process was "supposed" to work.
When the clock arrived I set it to wake up at 7am and low and behold the very next morning at 7.01am I heard the thump of feet hitting the floor and thundering into our room telling us the sun was out on the clock and it was time to get up.
We have the clock about a month or 2 now and it has worked every single morning so far. Twice he chanced his arm getting up before 7 and all we had to ask him was "What was on the clock" When he answered "Stars" he knew the game was up and back he toddled to bed. On one of these occasions when I was tucking him back in he told me that there was only two stars left until the sun came up, I asked him what he meant and he showed me that there are little starts on the outside that count down to when the sun appears I was really surprised and delighted that he had grasped the concept so well.
Initially, I found it a bit fiddly/awkward to set the wake time but nothing too bad. There's also a daytime nap function as well as the night time mode. A few times we set the daytime mode by accident (set to come on at 3pm) so we got an extra long rest on those mornings :). Not wanting to make that mistake too often for fear he'd start disregarding the clock altogether we set both alarms for 7am so it doesn't matter which mode is selected (we didn't use the daytime nap one anyway). Once the times are set correctly it's simple to operate, in fact it's his job to activate the clock every night, which makes him feel very important :).
I'm amazed at how effective the clock has been and I never thought it would buy us back so many hours of precious sleep.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 November 2024This was so helpful with both my boys with bedtime and with keeping them in bed through the night and in the morning!
I set the clock times so when the sun went to bed, it was time for my boys to go to bed. The clock display turns blue, which makes a great night light, and stars appear which countdown to when it's time to get up by disappearing one by one. This was a clear indicator to my boys that it was not time to get up yet if there were still stars displayed. It was time to get up when the display turned yellow and the sun came up. My 5am wake ups became a thing of the past!!
You have to be realistic when setting the times, you may need to gradually change it to allow them to adjust, and you're never going to get them to stay in bed until 10am (so you can get a lie in) ;D
When we no longer needed it for these reasons, I passed it on to a friend who was having the same problems with her son and she found it helpful too.
We would absolutely recommend this 5/5.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 August 2020We've had this clock less than a week but our 2 year old has taken to it amazingly! He was only two a couple of months ago but he understood the concept straight away and loves saying goodnight to Mr Sun before he goes to bed at night and at nap time. Hoping to slowly make his wake up time later each day to stop him getting up at 5am. It really is a great little gadget and I'm so pleased we bought it.
After I'd ordered the clock, I read some negative reviews and was a bit worried about some of the issues those reviews raised, so I'd like give my opinion on the things I read...
1: The menus aren't user friendly and it's too fiddly to set up - not the case at all. It takes a few minutes to get your head around it but it isn't difficult by any means.
2: you have to reset the clock each night - no, you don't. I don't know if some people have a faulty clock or aren't setting it up correctly but you set a wake up time (both for night time and a nap time one if you want to) and the clock stores it so all you have to do each night/nap time is press 2 buttons to make the sun go out and the stars come on. Easy.
3: It's too bright, even on it's lowest setting - I haven't found this at all. We've got it on setting 2 out of 10, which is just right for us.
4: The sun is too bright, it wakes my child - this one has happened to us twice. However, the way I see it, the whole point of the clock is to get them to stay in bed longer/sleep later until a time that is appropriate for them to wake up. So although the sun sometimes wakes him at the moment, as we increase the time bit by bit it eventually will wake him at a time we need him to wake up or he will wake up before the sun comes on and stay in bed until it does.
5: It's a flimsy piece of plastic - it looks solid and well made to me.
6: My child figured out how to undo the Child Lock feature - wouldn't be an issue if you put it out of your child's reach. Ours is on top of a cupboard where our toddler can see it but can't reach it. I'm sure he would be able to figure out how to work it if we let him get his hands on it, but we've told him it isn't a toy and that it stays on the shelf.
Overall, it's a great item and I can't wait to get a bit of a lie in!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful clock for kids for sleep cycle.
This is a great little clock which comes with an awesome bedtime story which made my daughter fall in love with the clock and a few days later she started waking up at the right time. I must say it is a good purchase considering it does exactly what it is suppose to do.
Cheers to the company.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wer lesen kann...

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t work for us unfortunately
Daughter rejected it off the bat and refused to have it in her room. I know other people swear by it but it was a total flop for us. We paid so much money for it and we’re hoping it would get us some extra sleep. Daughter Is 3

Utilissimo e consigliatissimo. C'è da fare attenzione solo alla spina che è quella per gli UK, ci vuole quindi l'adattatore.
