Le Creuset Stoneware Cafetière French Press , 1 L, Volcanic

Freshly brewed coffee still tastes best. With the French press from Le Creuset- a jug with a stainless steel press insert- the hot drink can be prepared in a good way and without a paper filter. First remove the lid with the press and pour coarsely ground coffee powder into the jug, Pour hot water over the coffee and let it steep for about four minutes. Put the lid back on and slowly press down the stainless strainer. This will allow the full state of the coffee to unfold.

I’d had several cheaper coffee presses one of which let me down after only a week or so when the glass just fell out and smashed in the sink! I wish I’d bought this Le Creuset one to start with! I was a bit surprised it was made in China (what isn’t though!!) but the quality is top notch though and is obviously made to their high standards. It’s a pleasure to use and look at for that matter! Obviously its a little heavier that steel or glass ones so that might be an issue for anyone with impaired wrist strength, a litre of coffee is basically 1kg plug the jug of course. That said just for me I generally only make 1/2 a pot at a time (4 scoops of coffee for a half and 8 for a full pot) definitely recommend this coffee press over cheaper offerings any day!!

I did put hot water in it first, thinking I always warm a teapot so why not a coffee pot, it held the heat well.
It's a good size.
It was easy to clean, the reduced price was an added bonus, now I need more of the matching mugs to go with it.
I like the look of it so much that at the moment it's living on my hob.
