I have had my eye on these for over a year now, mainly due to the spotlight that is integrated into the unit - but have held off until the integration with Homebase 3 had been delivered - and as of late 2023 - it has!
I have used this as a replacement / upgrade to my previous Eufy 2c camera at the front of my house and it is amazing.
With the built in floodlight my driveway is fully illuminated when motion is detected - just what i wanted to scare off and pick up any intruders hanging around my cars
Once the camera is joined to your home WIFI it will likely perform a firmware update - and that's when the option to join the Homebase 3 "Edge system" becomes available
You can now join this camera to the Homebase 3 for central storage of your events - and it means this camera can now work with Automations and run in line with the rest of your system.
It also means you can set the mode of this unit centrally via the HB3 mode (although the app now has a "Group Control" feature which has also removed the issue of setting multiple "solo" devices to away mode individually
It was the "automation" integration I wanted - and it works great
You can set this to sound an alarm or flash the light panel in the event of an alarm activation (dependant on your settings)
Battery life isn't great in these darker winter months here in the UK - I estimate about a month before I need to fully charge it from empty - but then my 2c Cameras also struggled with Battery life in the winter too (as its darker longer and in darkness ALL events are recorded - not just humans) so this is not a new issue and only present in this camera - it is present on all Eufy battery cameras
Great camera and now that the HB3 integration has been delivered I dare say I will be purchasing more of these units to replace my other "2c" Cam's (4 in total) as these provide a superior video quality (2K) and the built in light is a great feature to have all around the outside of my home
