New York Radisson Lexington Hotel

Located in the heart of Manhattan's fashionable East Side on 511 Lexington Ave at 48th Street, the Radisson Lexington is a great choice for any traveller wanting a fully equipped and comfortable location just a short distance from some of the best sites in New York City.

By New York standards the Radisson Lexington is priced just about average compared to other hotels in it's league. It offers all the mod-cons you would expect from a hotel of this class, including a fitness centre (or 'center' as our American cousins would say) and high-speed wireless and Ethernet internet connection.

The rooms are modern and clean with an amazing widescreen television loaded with the latest on-demand movies and Nintendo video games with controller to boot. The rooms house a mini-bar, safe and ironing board plus iron for your travel-battled clothes 9.

Like most buildings in New York the Radisson Lexington is a tower block with 30+ floors so if you're lucky you could get a room with an amazing view of Manhattan but more than likely your view will be blocked by another nearby skyscraper. The fitness centre located on the 3rd floor is equipped with a running machine, cycle machine and free weights but the space is quite small so try not to hog the machines during busy periods.

The Radisson Lexington has two restaurants on-site, the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant which serves, yes you guessed it, very good quality Chinese food and Raffles, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinners to guests and passersby. If you either don't have the time, money or appetite to eat a hearty New York breakfast which the serve so well in Raffles you take advantage of the on-site Starbuck coffee shop where you can grab a quick coffee, fruit-bowl and muffin but be warned, the queue for Starbucks can be long during rush-hour times because everyday New Yorkers visit the coffee shop to and from their way to work.

There is also a stylish and modern nightclub called the LQ, which boasts a range of drinks and a decent sized dance floor, so if you're in the mood for a few drinks and a boogie you won't have far to go.

I enjoyed my stay at the Radisson Lexington and couldn't find a single fault with the rooms, facilities or food. Plus the very friendly and efficient service by the staff made my stay even more comfortable.
