 My Hubby presented the DELL INSPIRON 6400 LAPTOP on October 2007 as a birthday gift. Now it is going to get its second birthday within three months. Once I opened the notebook I was excited to see the colour of the laptop, it is silvery in nature.
My Dell Inspiron 640 is powered by an Intel core 2 DUO CPU and 256mb graphic card. Combined with the 2GB of RAM memory it becomes quite a powerful machine.
The Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop has such powerful hardware you would expect that the battery doesn't last too long but the speed of tasks make up for that. The design is great and also I have never had such a comfortable keyboard on previous laptops I've owned.
I think it has 3 years warranty but i don't think i will need it because it looks and feels like a very durable laptop and I think I shouldn’t have a problem getting 4 to 5 years use out of it, maybe even more.
Another plus is it is very cheap, especially when you buy direct from Dell.
We bought this notebook for £575, we placed the order online on the Dell web site and the laptop was delivered within 2 weeks.
GOOD POINTS about this DELL Inspiron 6400 laptop are:
*.The laptop is quite and never heats up.
*It provides good performance for its price range. Dell service is very good.
*Nice 15 inches screen.
*Sound quality is very very good (well done DELL) especially in media direct.
*Eexcellent build quality and is very sturdy- hardly any keyboard flex.
* Great for games and movies.
* I found it is reliable....the dual core is a new experience to me and I love it because you can multitask as much as you want (within reason).
* Very competitive price compared to other similar brands (but only if you buy from DELL web site.
* It is affordable, impressive, general performance, bright, high resolution screen, instant on DVD playback feature and 5- in- 1 card reader.
THE BAD POINTS ARE:
*The main problem with this laptop is battery life. It lasts for about 2 hours. battery life is weak.
* It is bit heavy and not the best laptop for portability
* Screen brightness when running on battery power only is not great.
All in all I am really happy with my notebook, it's really cheap for a configuration that will be useful for a common user.
I have to also say that DELL support is really good and would recommend getting the three year next-day support plan. |
